Hello! Debra & Mario here,
this channel follows our story of travel, education and outreach throughout the USA and abroad.
I (Debra) love teaching our children, and we are both home because Mario’s health caused him to retire.
During a visit to Mario’s family in Italy we noticed that he sometimes felt better there. We didn’t know why, maybe Maybe the higher altitude or the cooler weather. We kept talking about it, and the dream took shape.
Why not take school on the road, teach our children by experiencing the world first hand? Walk the streets of Williamsburg, VA and learn how to bind a book in the 1800’s? Visit Yellowstone and share huckleberries with a black bear? Watch a shootout between Wyatt Earp and the wild bunch in the streets of Cody, WY?
The question was, how are we going to do it? Would it be safe for us? Where are the hospitals? We were worried about a lot of things. But in the end, there were far more why nots than whys.
We spent more than a month researching the options. After all we purchased a motorhome and headed out.
We had never done anything like this.
I (Debra) had never driven a 40ft motorhome. Because of Mario’s limitations, I would be the driver.
But this unprecedented (for us) move opened our eyes to the world of life learning, reaching out to other people in need, and traveling with reduced abilities.
Follow us as we learn about the places we visit and the people we meet.
